The former site of the Chioda's Trattoria Italian restaurant on Franklin Street in Worcester could soon be the location of a 26-unit apartment building.

Plans for the three-story, 8,740-square-foot apartment building at 631 Franklin St. were revealed by filings to the Worcester Planning Board uploaded to the City of Worcester’s website on Friday.

The applicant for the project is Michael Ermani, a local developer who focuses on luxury apartments. Ermani’s purchase of the property was finalized in June 2022, according to Worcester District Registry of Deeds records, three months after Ermani first made his intentions of constructing an apartment building at the site public. Chioda's Trattoria closed in November 2022.

Site plans call for the construction of a three-story, 26-unit apartment building.

Ermani owns a number of multi-family properties throughout the Central Massachusetts area, including in Worcester, Grafton, and Framingham

Plans for the site call for the 48 parking spaces, with a small shared lawn space planned for the area between the building and the parking lot.

The property is located near Princeton Place Apartments and Courtyard Princeton Place, two adjacent apartment complexes operated by Lowell-based entity Princeton Properties with a combined 302 units.
