Vital Stats:
Age: 41
Q. How are you settling in at your new office?
A. It is going very well. The people here are friendly and responsive to a new employee's questions, which is very helpful in getting established.
Q. What's the biggest surprise you've had in starting the job?
A. How cohesive the work environment needs to be in a smaller community bank to get the desired results.
Q. What challenges do you see in your new position?
A. Being able to stay ahead of the curve regarding the regulatory compliance changes in the banking industry.
Q. How different is this job from your previous position?
A. There is more individual accountability in a smaller bank and better utilization of resources is necessary to prosper.
Q. How close is this to what you imagined in high school you'd end up doing?
A. Not close at all. I went to college at UMass with the intention of becoming a front office executive within a professional sports franchise. I quickly realized that opportunities are limited in that field.
Q. Where's the best place to get lunch near your new location?
A. I haven't been out for lunch very much yet but I'm familiar with Wings and Coney Island, both of which are within walking distance of the office.
Q. What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?
A. Be an executive leader within the local banking community and, in my spare time, be playing more golf then I am now.
