What do candidates want from the career section of a company's website? Mostly just good, solid facts. That's the conclusion of a survey by HR research organization Staffing.org.
"Candidates will overlook any number of things if they can get a clear picture of the job being offered and the company that is offering it," the group says.
According to the survey, the most important piece of information job seekers hope to find online is the salary range and financial benefits a position offers, with 77 percent of respondents indicating that's important to them.
Sixty percent say they want to know about lifestyle benefits, and 54 percent cite training and development programs as key information.
Staffing.org's research found that job seekers are looking for a website that's easy to use and honest about the company and the positions. They also want to get a clear picture of what sort of employees the company is looking for, with comprehensive job descriptions that let them know if it's worth exploring further.
As far as tone, the organization says job seekers want a website to be informal and warm, and they're interested in back-and-forth communication with the hiring company.
