Westborough Lab Expands By Acquisition

Westborough-based environmental laboratory Alpha Analytical has acquired Boston Analytical Inc. of Salem, N.H.
Under terms of the acquisition agreement, Boston Analytical will retain its name and all of its current staff. The company's two top executives, Gary Feinstein, CEO, and Robert McBride, president, will also keep their jobs.
Alpha bought Boston Analytical in order to expand into the growing life sciences industry. Boston Analytical performs analysis and microbiological testing for the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, cosmetics and nutrition industries.
Alpha is the largest environmental lab in New England.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
