Wholesale Sales, Inventories Up

Merchant wholesalers saw sales and total inventories increase in November compared to months earlier, but the levels are still down compared to a year earlier.

Wholesale sales, after adjustment for season variation, were up 3.3 percent to $337 billion, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Sales of durable goods in November were up 1.9 percent compared to the month earlier, but were down 4.2 percent from a year earlier.

Inventories of merchant wholesalers, after season adjustment, were up 1.5 percent compared to October, but were down 11 percent from a year earlier.
