Worcester Academy purchased four acres of land off Providence Street in Worcester for $2 million.
The parcels at the old St. Vincent Hospital site bring the school's total ownership in the area to 10 acres.
The four acres have frontage on Marion Avenue at the rear of the old hospital complex, and are contiguous to about 6 acres of land the school purchased in 2007. The land is about equidistant between the school's 81 Providence St. campus, and its Gaskill Field athletic complex.
The school purchased the land from Liberty Properties of Boston on Tuesday.
In addition to the land purchases, the school also announced it would provide $300,000 in low-interest loans for property owners in the neighborhood, which will be administered by Worcester Community Housing Resources.
The school, which has 655 students, now owns a total of 71 acres, including athletic fields. There are no immediate plans to redevelop the area.
