Worcester Foreclosures Down In September
Foreclosure rates in the Worcester area fell in September compared with the same month last year, according to research firm CoreLogic.
The area's foreclosure rate compared with outstanding mortgage loans was 2.42 percent this September, versus 2.72 percent a year before.
The Worcester-area rate is lower than the national average of 3.48 percent, but higher than the Massachusetts rate of 1.89 percent.
The area's 90-day delinquency rate also fell year-over-year, from 7.51 percent to 7.04 percent. The current delinquency rate is slightly lower than the national average of 7.17 percent but well above the state average of 5.46 percent.
