W/S Development Associates, the Chestnut Hill-based developer behind the Blackstone Valley complex in Millbury, has broken ground on a new outdoor facility in Wareham.
Wareham Crossing will encompass 675,000 square-feet of retail space on Route 28, adjacent to the intersection of interstates 495 and 195. The open-air site aims to attract residents of southeastern Mass., as well as those on the Cape.
Several national anchors will occupy space at the center, including Target, Lowe's, Best Buy, Borders, and Old Navy among others. Specialty restaurants found in the Millbury plaza will also locate in the Wareham location, such as Red Robin and LongHorn Steakhouse.
The new shopping center will open in portions starting in the fall of '07, with the balance opening in the spring of the following year. WBJ writer Micky Baca writes on the success and traffic snarls of Blackstone Valley in the most recent edition of the Worcester Business Journal. Read more by clicking here.
