In June, journalist Mark Leibovich wrote in the Atlantic, suggesting Boston Logan International Airport be renamed after Bill Russell, the late civil rights activist, Boston Celtics player, and first Black NBA coach. In Central Massachusetts, the Worcester Regional Airport is one of the few major airports in the Northeast not named after a person, as the facilities in Hartford, Providence, Boston, and New York City are all named after prominent people from those regions.

Why is there a need to rename the Worcester Airport (ORH)? What is wrong with using the city name that the airport is in?
As a revenue source for the airport, consider a corporate branding opportunity rather than a permanent non-revenue naming. “Polar Park” benefits the WooSox; and nearly all other sports or entertainment venues financially benefit a community or the venue. Consider a revenue generating naming opportunity for our local airport that is rebid every 10 years.
Bob Cousy was well-known, both on and off the court, for his public stance against racism. Went to Holy Cross College. Still lives in Worcester.
I do not favor naming this or any other public place after a person. The current name accurately describes what it is and its location. Give up the PC and political self-serving effort.

I don't see a need to change the airport name. Unless the airport will benefit financially by renaming it after one of the people above I believe "Worcester Regional Airport" is just appropriate.
