Newspaper? What is this? Does anyone still read newspapers? Anyways, if you're talking about digital news or other media, the question changes to just a little bit. The question would be "where are the news?" Actually, a better question is "where is journalism?" Today, as incompetent profit seeking executives focus on content, any content, mostly trash, to make a buck, journalism and news do no exist. That is why no one believes the media or even pay attention to it. The future of today's media, digital or otherwise, will be the same as the one of the newspapers—certain doom. The demise of the newspapers was not caused by the digital media. It was caused by the death of journalism and the absence of real news reporting.

The best thing for newspapers and the readers would be to return to true journalism and stop the political bias and opinion.

While not dismissing the economics staying viable in the marketplace, consolidation of this scale is not good for journalism. Journalism is supposed to be free of outside influences that could jeopardize the integrity of work and should allow for the exploration of facts on both the national and local level. Consider further, the implications that such a large media conglomerate now holds over the information that we may - or may not have available to us. Bigger is not always better.
