The Kraft Group’s proposed plans to build a 25,000-seat stadium for the MLS team New England Revolution in Everett were dashed in early August after facing resistance from the community and politicians. Conversely, approving the build of Worcester’s publicly funded $160-million Polar Park baseball stadium for the Worcester Red Sox faced little resistance in 2018. While there has been zero discussion about having the Revs soccer stadium built in Central Massachusetts, if the Kraft Group were to target another region for the stadium, Central Massachusetts offers locations near other Kraft Group businesses, including its crown jewel: Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, home of the NFL's New England Patriots.
