$540K Fed Grant For Becker Nursing Program

Becker College's nursing program has received a $540,072 grant from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration.

The grant was announced on Becker's Worcester campus today by U.S. Rep. James P. McGovern. The grant is the first federal grant the school has ever received.

The money will be used to help the school get nurses into the workforce, strengthen the school's nursing curriculum, enhance the school's simulation lab and provide technical support to students.

In the past decade, Becker has invested $7 million in facilities and equipment for its nursing program and puts $4.2 million into the program annually. The school plans to invest $3 million in new equipment and facilities over the next three years.

Nursing is the largest program at Becker.
