$6.5M Contract For Raytheon Marlborough

Raytheon Network Centric Systems in Marlborough has been awarded a $6.5 million contract for two radar systems.

The systems are fixed-base precision approach radar systems needed to complete the move of U.S. Marine helicopters from the Naval Air Station at Willow Grove, Pa. to McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey and from the Naval Air Station in Atlanta to Robins Air Force Base, also in Georgia.

The moves are the result of recommendations of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure Commission.

The contract is for 17 months and the systems will be manufactured at Raytheon in Marlborough.
