LENDING LEADERS

SpencerBANK was awarded Small Business Lender of the Quarter by the U.S. Small Business Administration for the third quarter of fiscal year 2015. GVNA Healthcare of Gardner was among 186 Massachusetts companies to receive a portion of a $1.4- million grant from the Workforce Training Fund Grant. Grant proceeds are to provide customized employee training to spur cost savings from higher productivity.

GVNA's Healthy Families Program received the 2015 Children's Trust Training and Education Award from Children's Trust.

Ryan Vaughn of The Hanover Insurance Group of Worcester has been included in the 2015 Insurance Business America Young Guns report. The list is put out each year by Insurance Business America.

Worcester real estate firm Glickman Kovago & Jacobs has joined NAI Global, a network of owner-operated commercial real estate brokerage firms.

Gardner-based Heywood Healthcare honored 229 employees for their service to Heywood and Athol Hospitals, Winchendon Health Center, Heywood Rehabilitation Center and Heywood Medical Group. Rose Kavalchuck and Betsy Turczynski mark 40 years at Heywood Hospital; Les Henley received recognition for 45 years at Athol Hospital. The Daniel P. Moen Employee Excellence Award was given to 15-year employee Lucille Diemdowicz.

VNA Care Network & Hospice of Worcester earned a four-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Twenty percent of home health agencies nationwide received a 4-star rating or better.

Dennis A. McCurdy of The McCurdy Group of Sturbridge completed the annual continuing education requirement of the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors.

The Morse Stroll, a commemorative walking path surrounding Elm Park in Worcester, was dedicated to honor Dr. Leonard Morse, former commissioner of the Worcester Division of Public Health. Dr. Morse, who retired in 2011, served as a president of Worcester District Medical Society and its parent organization, the Massachusetts Medical Society.
