AXA consolidates into Farmington
New York-based AXA Equitable Life Insurance said it has completed relocating 150 employees from its Hartford and Simsbury offices into a new location in Farmington that will serve as headquarters for the company's wholesale life insurance distribution channel. AXA signed a 10-year lease on 42,000 square feet of space at 80 Scott Swamp Rd. The move consolidates the underwriting, sales, marketing and operations teams into one building, an executive said, and was driven by the unit's growth: The wholesale life channel saw 70 percent sales growth last year and added 120 employees in the last three years.
