BAE deals aircraft-sensor unit

New York-based private equity firm J. F. Lehman & Co. has signed a deal to acquire the inertial products business unit of BAE Systems for $140 million. The unit makes sensors that help guide planes, helicopters, tanks and weapons systems, and employs about 810 people, including some in Cheshire. The deal is expected to close within 60 days.
