Boston Scientific, GE Healthcare announce approval

Natick-based Boston Scientific Corp. and GE Healthcare Integrated IT Solutions announced today that the Federal Food and Drug Administration has approved BSX's LATITUDE 2.0 software.

LATITUDE Patient Management is a remote monitoring system that provides clinicians with direct device integration capabilities into GE's Centricity Electronic Medical Record.  The monitoring tool keeps physicians informed on the status of patients with heart failure and at risk of sudden cardiac death.  The integration of Boston Scientific's technology will generate a more complete patient record.

The system also allows for doctors to collect patient data, both current and historical, in one record, said Vishal Wanchoo, president and CEO of GE Healthcare Integrated IT Solutions.
