Boston Scientific, the Natick-based medical device company, announced it is sponsoring World Diabetes Day on Nov. 14.
The is the second year in a row Boston Scientific has been a sponsor.
The International Diabetes Federation organizes the day, which aims to increase global awareness of the disease. The IDF represents more than 200 diabetes associations in the world. It estimates that 246 million people worldwide have diabetes.
As part of Boston Scientific sponsoring the day, the company will offer free diabetes screenings for employees and will illuminate their corporate headquarters and Internet home page blue on the appointed day.
Boston Scientific also announced it will present results from two clinical studies at an Orlando, Fla., conference on minimally invasive gynecology treatments later this month.
One of the studies examined pelvic floor reconstruction and compared success rates for three pelvic organ procedures. Another study focused on placement of urethral sling systems the company has tested.
The results will be presented at the 38th annual Global Congress for Minimally Invasive Gynecology, to be held in Florida from Nov. 15 to 19.
