Boylston-based industrial manufacturer Honematic Machine Corp., whose history dates back to work on NASA's Moon landing, was acquired by PCX Aerosystems, LLC, which is headquartered in Newington, Conn.

The cost of the acquisition was not disclosed.

HMC was sold by the Cusimano family, who has owned the business since 1992, according to an April 11 press release from HMC.

“Joining the PCX family represents a great opportunity for both our customers and our team. With the resources and relationships that PCX brings to the table, we will be better able to meet growing customer demands and identify new applications for our know-how. For our employees, this will create both stability and opportunity,” said Greg Cusimano, president of Honematic, in a written statement.

Honematic Machine Corp. was founded in 1956 and is located at 222 Shrewsbury St. in Boylston. It offers deep-hole drilling and boring services to the oil and gas, aerospace, nuclear, and defense markets. HMC made the lunar lander’s base legs in NASA’s Moon landing in 1969.

PCX Aerosystems supplies assemblies for rotorcraft and fixed-wing aerospace platforms. It acquired Aero-K, based in California, in January.
