Businesses Show Support For RGGI
More than 225 businesses have signed a letter supporting the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), which will undergo a program review in 2012.
The letter, organized by the New England Clean Energy Council, urges the New England and Mid-Atlantic governors whose states are part of RGGI to keep and strengthen the initiative. The signers are largely companies in the clean energy field, and the council said they employ tens of thousands of people.
The letter urges the states to update the emissions cap set by the agreement and add more states to the pact to increase its impact.
