Brenda Becker, current Assistant to the Vice President for Legislative Affairs, will join Natick-based Boston Scientific as Senior Vice President of Global Government Affairs.
In this role, Becker will manage the Company's global government affairs function, as well as corporate public policy and political action committee. Becker will begin serving in this role at the start of 2007. In her current role, Becker reports to vice president Dick Cheney and senior White House staff on legislative strategy in the House and the Senate.
Prior to her current role, Becker was confirmed by the Senate as Assistant Secretary for Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs for the United States Dept. of Commerce, where she advised the Secretary of Commerce and other senior Commerce officials on matters of Congressional and intergovernmental affairs.
When she begins in January, Becker will report to Boston Scientific's COO, Paul LaViolette. Boston Scientific is a developer, marketer and manufacturer of medical devices.
