Coast Guard research finds new home

A former Navy building on the Fort Trumbull development in New London -- part of the site that sparked the eminent domain case that reached the U.S. Supreme Court -- will be the relocated home of the U.S. Coast Guard Research & Development Center, according to Gov. Rell. The governor announced this morning that the federal government signed a lease with Boston-based Corcoran Jennison for more than 46,000 square feet of space at 100 Chelsea St., to be developed by October of next year. Coast Guard research is currently headquartered at UConn's Avery Point campus in Groton.
