Commonwealth Medicine, the consulting and operations division of the UMass Chan Medical School in Worcester, announced Wednesday a three-year agreement with Ohio Public Employees Retirement System.

Per the agreement, Commonwealth Medicine will provide rehabilitative and review services for OPERS disability recipients.

The OPERS system was founded in 1935 with its Rehabilitative Services Program launched in 2014.

The agreement will partner members with clinical case managers who can map out recovery plans and receive vocational assistance, according to the release.

Clinical nurse case managers provided by Commonwealth Medicine will assist disabled individuals by conducting clinical assessments, creating personalized case management plans, and providing ongoing coaching and support, per UMass Chan Medical School’s written statement.

“I am confident OPERS members will benefit greatly from our experience and our commitment to our mission to empower our partners to transform lives through our innovative health care solutions,” said Commonwealth Medicine’s Executive Vice Chancellor Lisa Colombo, in a press release.
