Cornerstone Bank appoints new SVP of retail banking

Altaf Ahmed has been appointed senior vice president of retail banking at Cornerstone Bank in Worcester.
The 38-year-old banker has more than 20 years of experience in senior positions at various Massachusetts lenders, most recently at Bank of America in Boston where he managed the growth of its retail market.
He studied business administration at the University of Phoenix. He and his wife, Shima, and their three children live in Wayland.
The Worcester mutual savings bank has offices in Charlton, Holden, Leicester, Rutland, Southbridge, Spencer, Sturbridge, Warren, and Webster. As of June 30, the bank had $1.1 billion in assets and $879 million in deposits.
