Dudley-based Nichols College will host a summit in August bringing together representatives from all five generations now active in the workforce, in an effort to explore how to bridge the gap between workers regardless of age.

The summit will bring together representatives from Traditionalists, Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z for an event to address how to best manage and motivate a multigenerational workforce.

The Intergenerational Workforce Summit from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 6  on the Nichols College campus in Dudley.

As employers face friction, communication barriers, and difficulties with engagement and employee retention, this summit plans to go beyond awareness and stereotypes to promote mutual understanding, inclusive leadership, and teamwork, according to a June 26  press release from Nichols College.

"At Nichols, we are committed to helping both organizations and individuals thrive. This summit is not about telling young professionals how to behave or asking leaders to lower expectations - it's about creating space for mutual listening and collaboration," Robin Frkal, dean of the Graduate School at Nichols, said in the press release. "Our goal is to equip participants with real tools and ideas they can take back to their workplaces to build stronger, more inclusive teams."

The event is co-hosted by Marlborough-based Visions Internships, led by CEO & Founder Amy Mosher Berry, who will moderate the panel and facilitate breakout sessions alongside Kim Krumsiek, associate professor of human resource management at Nichols.

Founded in 1815, Nichols had 1,491 enrolled students in the fall of 2024, making it the 10th largest college in Central Massachusetts, according to information compiled by the WBJ Research Department.
