Counting On "Me Time"

According to results of a Robert Half Finance & Accounting survey, more candidates for accounting jobs are asking for flexible schedules, and the executives that do the hiring are willing to oblige.

The survey said 57 percent of CFOs reported that job candidates are more likely to ask about "work/life balance programs" during job interviews than they were five years ago. Also, 68 percent of financial executives reported offering some form of alternative schedule. The most common programs offered were flexible hours, part-time work and job sharing arrangements.

According to the survey, 26 percent of executives said prospective employees were less likely to ask about "me time" than five years ago.
