Movers and Shakers

KENNETH REDDING, president and CEO of UniBank, has been elected to a three-year term on the board of directors of America’s Community Bankers, a national trade group for community banks. Each board member represents the interests of community banks located in his or her state and region. Board members set ACB’s legislative and regulatory policy agenda. Unibank serves the Blackstone Valley, with offices in Whitinsville, Uxbridge, Douglas, Blackstone, Upton, Sutton, the Whitinsville Plaza, and a loan office in Milford.

AIXA KIDD has joined Clark University as the director of alumni affairs. She will oversee reunions, regional activities, homecoming events, and alumni fundraising. She has served as the assistant dean of student affairs at the Boston Conservatory and on the Board of the Boston’s Children Theatre and also worked as an instructor at the Boston Center for Adult Education and at Suffolk University. DANIEL PETROCELLI has also joined Clark as director of planned giving. He previously served as director of planned giving for the American Heart Association/Northeast Affiliate in Framingham. KAREN DOHERTY has joined Clark as director of advancement services. She will supervise the Office of Advancement Services, and oversee reporting standards and management of advancement and fundraising data. Previously she was director of research and development officer in Wesleyan University’s Office of University Relations.

Dr. ELIZABETH GUNDERSEN has been appointed to the medical staff at AdCare Hospital. Previously, she was a hospitalist at UMass Memorial Medical Center. A graduate of William and Mary College and the Medical College of Virginia, she completed her residency in Family Medicine at UMass Medical School. Before medical school she taught elementary school in Baltimore MD and English in Central America.

Dr. JULIE OZAYDIN, a family medicine physician with the UMass Memorial Medical Group, has joined Marlborough Medical Associates and the Marlborough Hospital Medical Staff. She is a medical school graduate of the Tufts University School of Medicine and completed her internship and residency programs at Greater Lawrence Family Health Center and Lawrence General Hospital. She joins Sangeetha Punjabi MD in practice, offering full-range medical care to all age groups, with a special interest in childhood asthmas.

DAVE LANDERS, president of Holden-based Landers & Associates, has been elected director of the Massachusetts Society of Enrolled Agents, a chapter of the national Society. Enrolled Agents are federally recognized tax professionals who have technical experience in all areas of tax. They are empowered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before all levels of the IRS for audits, collections and appeals. Landers has been a tax practitioner for more than 20 years and has been an Enrolled Agent since 1982.

RYAN RAVEIS has been promoted to sales manager of William Raveis Mortgage, LLC, based in Shelton, CT. He joined the company in mid-2006 after successful positions in companies both in Connecticut and in the Boston area.

Leominster-based New England Benefits Group has been acquired by Methuen-based Borislow Insurance, a New England regional employee benefits consulting firm. As part of the transaction, JOHN FLANAGAN, founder of NEBG, will join Borislow Insurance as executive vice president, sales and service. BI serves more than 400 corporate clients and 2,500 individuals.
