EMC chosen by Virginia hospital

EMC Corp. in Hopkinton announced that Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, Virginia has selected EMC's storage systems to store clinical and financial system data.

Rockingham selected several EMC components, including EMC CLARiiON CX3 storage systems, EMC NetWorker, and EMC SnapView backup software.  The software was chosen to replace the majority of the hospital's systems and give it the ability to do data mirroring between the main campus and an offsite data center.

The hospital has used EMC products in the past, including the EMC CLARiiON CX700 system.  Rockingham purchased a CLARiiON CX3-80 system to use in the conjunction with the older device for disaster recovery and business continuity purposes.

Rockingham worked with I-Access in the transaction, an EMC Velocity Authorized Services Network partner to evaluate storage systems. I-Access is based in Richmond, VA, and will provide consulting and support services.
