EMC Corp. announced today that Gartner Inc. has positioned the Hopkinton-based firm in the "Leaders" quadrant in the "Magic Quadrant for Midrange Enterprise Disk Arrays, 2H06" report, a graphical representation of the marketplace for a specific time period.
Gartner places companies in the Leaders quadrant that "have the market share, credibility, and marketing and sales capabilities needed to drive the acceptance of new technologies." EMC was named in the report for its CLARiiON and Celerra families of networked storage systems.
Companies labeled "Leaders" also must have well-articulated plans for its customers and prospects to use in designing their storage infrastructure and strategies.
"We believe this report reflects the long-standing confidence that customers have in EMC to develop and deliver economical, high-quality midrange storage solutions that can serve as the foundation of their information infrastructures," said David Donatelli, EMC executive vice president, Storage Product Operations.
