EMC takes on data back-up co.

Hopkinton's EMC Corp. said today that it had acquired Utah-based online information back-up and recovery company Berkeley Data Systems Inc.
Berkeley makes the Mozy online subscription service for data protection on PCs, laptops and remote office servers.
EMC said the acquisition would not affect company revenue or stockholder earnings in 2007. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
