Westboro-based ExaGrid Systems Inc. has received certification for use with CommVault's Galaxy Backup & Recovery software, a data management tool offering users protection and storage capabilities.
The certification will allow ExaGrid and CommVault to offer a smooth transition to customers using Galaxy software who want to convert to disk-based backup. Those customers can maintain their investment in CommVault's software while moving away from older tape-based backup systems.
ExaGrid and CommVault share mutual customers such as Grant Thorton LLP, the U.S. member firm of Grant Thorton International. Says Paul Brzeskiewicz, data center manager for Grant Thorton LLP: "We're please to see these two vendors working closer together to ensure our backups are as reliable, simple to maintain and as effective as possible."
