First-Time Unemployment Up 20K

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, 339,000 Americans filed for unemployment insurance coverage for the first time during the week ended Nov. 10.

That number, which is an advance, seasonally adjusted figure, represents an increase of 20,000 from the previous week's revised figure.

The department's four-week moving average was 330,000, unchanged from the previous week.

The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate was 1.9 percent for the week ending Nov. 3, unchanged from the prior week.
