Fitchburg Co. Earns New ISO Certification

Fitchburg-based Headwall Photonics has been certified under the new ISO 9001: 2008 quality and work procedures standard.
The company recently completed an ISO audit by NQA USA, an Acton-based audit firm. NQA said the new ISO standards are more rigorous and demanding than previous ISO standards and that Headwall, a venture-backed manufacturer, employed quality standards and work procedures "comparable to those typically seen in much larger organizations."
Headwall makes spectrometer systems for imaging and chemical sensing applications.
The ISO 9001: 2008 standards are the fourth edition of the ISO standards. ISO, the International Organization for Standardization, provides a framework for companies to control their processes.
