Fitchburg co.'s water doesn't taste, smell unpleasant

Fitchburg-based Integrated Pharmaceuticals says it has hired three salespeople to push the company's new bottled water fortified with calcium and magnesium.

The water is called HealthyCal+, and according to the company, each half-liter bottle contains 135 milligrams of calcium and 35 milligrams of magnesium. The company said it can make HealthyCal+ without using artificial flavors or sweeteners to cover up the "unpleasant taste and smell" normally associated with drinks that contain more than 65 milligrams of calcium.

The company said its bottling lines are ready, and regulatory approvals for the new water "are well underway."
