Framingham’s BERG, a clinical-stage biotech company using artificial intelligence to research diseases, has teamed up with the COVID-19 research team working on the Summit supercomputer at the Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

The company’s AI capabilities will be combined with the supercomputer to conduct comprehensive therapeutic research to lead to a quicker path in combating COVID-19," said Dr. Niven R. Narain, BERG's President and Chief Executive Officer.

The AI will be used in conjunction with research on the Summit supercomputer using computational simulations to analyze drug compounds that could prevent host cell infection.
