Q. How are you settling in at your new office?
A. Great! I've received wonderful support from a very knowledgeable group of professionals who have a keen interest in the bank and the community."

Q. What's the biggest surprise you've had in starting the job?
A. The response from the community has been terrific. Old friends and customers have welcomed me back with open arms.

Q. What challenges do you see in your new position?
A. It's an extremely tough economic environment for most small businesses, so I expect it to be both a challenge and an opportunity to help business owners with their financing needs.

Q. How different is this job from your previous position?
A. As a commercial loan officer at a small community bank like Millbury Savings, I'll be able to be more actively engaged in the local community and therefore be able to make more loans. In previous commercial loan officer positions, my role required more back-office time managing an existing loan portfolio.

Q. How close is this to what you imagined in high school you'd end up doing?
A. Not close at all! In my high school and early college years, I took all the social service exams: police, state trooper, fire department. I also taught school for awhile. But my goals changed as I matured, and I was drawn to the opportunity to help others reach their financial goals.

Q. Where's the best place to get lunch near your new location?

A. There are several great spots to eat within minutes from the bank, including restaurants at the Shoppes at Blackstone Valley, great pizza shops in the center of Millbury, and other favorite locations just minutes away.

Q. What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?
A. While I expect to be at least semi-retired, I hope I'll still be here at Millbury Savings, perhaps part-time or consulting. I'd also love to spend time as a substitute teacher, teaching courses on common money management to young adults.
