Hard work leads to Fortune

Coming in No. 40 out of 50 typically wouldn't seem so great. But when that 50 is Fortune magazine's "50 Most Powerful Women in Business," well that's not so bad. Making her debut at No. 40 on the prestigious list that includes female dynamos the likes of Oprah Winfrey is ING US Wealth Management CEO Kathleen A. Murphy. Murphy joined ING in 2000 and has held several positions within the company. Last year, assets under management grew 12 percent to $158 billion, and after-tax profits jumped 28 percent to $708 million.
