Worcester’s College of the Holy Cross announced it has received $400,000 in federal funding to increase partnerships with six youth-serving organizations in the city.
Programming will focused on after-school and out-of-school activities for youth, enhanced educational achievement through tutoring services and access to higher education.
Participating youth organizations include Girls CHOICE, Nativity School of Worcester, North High School, South Worcester Neighborhood Improvement Corp., Worcester Boys & Girls Club, and Youth Effect.
A formal announcement will be made on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 10:30 a.m. at the South Worcester Neighborhood Improvement Corp. at 47 Camp St. U.S. Rep. James McGovern, Holy Cross President Michael McFarland, along with Superintendent of Worcester Public Schools Melinda Boone and various college administrators and city officials are expected to attend.
