Income Rises, But Stuff More Expensive

The U.S. Department of Commerce reported that personal income increased $21.2 billion, or 0.2 percent, and disposable personal income (DPI) increased $14.0 billion, or 0.1 percent, in October.

Personal income increased $50.4 billion, or 0.4 percent.

However, what the department calls "real DPI" which is adjusted to take rising prices into account, decreased 0.1 percent in October, in contrast to an increase of 0.2 percent in September.
