Worcester information technology service provider Cinch IT Inc. is close to buying its own building, which the company said marks a commitment to doing business in the city for years to come.

The IT provider, which started on Shrewsbury Street 11 years ago, said it expects to move into its new office at 945 West Boylston St. this April, about two months after its $200,000 purchase of the building is expected to close. The 1,200 square foot office space has a sizeable conference room, which the company plans to use to host seminars for clients on search engine optimization, online review management, and any other IT-related subjects they might be interested in.

“We might build [clients] a website, but we can actually bring them in to train them on SEO, online reviews, aid them on whatever their goals and their tasks are,” Rick Porter, the company’s president, said. “It’s something new for us, that we’ve been wanting to do for some time.”

Porter said he decided on the West Boylston Street office because of its proximity to I-290 and I-190, which will make it easy for clients to come to seminars and for employees to go to on-site visits. The building is also extremely visible, which Porter said he hopes will lead to wider brand recognition.

Before moving in, Porter said he needs to do a bit of remodeling. Having an open floor plan is one of his top priorities, because he said he wants employees to be able to easily bounce ideas off each other.

The company currently occupies about 800 square feet of space at 76 Webster St., and has 11 employees. It also has a satellite office in Boston, but the company’s main focus is Worcester, Porter said.

“The goal is not only to build equity and build assets, but also to lay down some permanent physical roots in Worcester, offer new services to clients, have space to be able to grow, and to add employees in the future,” he said.
