March 24, 2008 -- OF NOTE

• Andy Fulmer won a 2007 Jaguar X Type from the South Windsor Chamber of Commerce car raffle at the Chamber Booming Business Expo. A portion of the raffle proceeds will be used to support the chamber’s scholarship fund.

• Lux Bond & Green dedicated a clock outside of their remodeled store to the town of West Hartford.

• Spin Cycle Cafe Laundromat in Newington was designated as The Most Progressive Laundromat from the National Coin Laundry Association. The Laundromat offers dance lessons, a comedy show and other entertainment for customers.

• 360 Federal Credit Union in Enfield donated more than 200 books to the children’s reading room at Asnuntuck Community College. The books were collected by community members and staff.

• Jules Poirier Co. in Avon won the Outstanding Web Site Marketing Message Award for 2007 from the Connecticut Better Business Bureau. The company was also officially congratulated by Attorney General Richard Blumenthal for service to the community and state.
