Socorro Vargas was named specialist in endocrinology and diabetes at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford. Vargas was formerly practicing at William W. Backus Hospital Endocrinology and Diabetes Management Center.

Charles Fahey was hired as software engineer at Port One Internet Inc. in Manchester. Fahey was previously lead Web developer of emerging technologies at Diversified Group Brokerage.

Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center hired Kathryn Litwin as specialist in pediatrics and adolescent medicine. Litwin joins Saint Francis from Connecticut Children’s Medical Center where she was chief resident in the department of pediatrics.

Connecticut Innovations in Rocky Hill appointed Daniel W. Wagner as investment associate. Wagner came from CuraGen Corp. where he was a research scientist.

Joseph C. Anderson was named gastroenterologist at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington. Anderson was formerly in practice at the Stony Brook University Medical Center.

Sachin Dhingra was appointed specialist in pediatrics at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Dhingra was formerly resident in pediatrics at Metropolitan Hospital Center/New York Medical College.

Saadia Zafar was hired as specialist in anesthesiology at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Zafar was most recently on the staff at Roger Williams Medical Center.

Specialty Risk Services in Hartford promoted Pamela Rippens to senior vice president of account management. Rippens was formerly senior vice president of field operations at the company.

Sara A. Taylor, associate at Murtha Cullina in Hartford, was named president-elect of The Real Estate Exchange for 2008. She will be president in 2009.
