Dr.

JOHN GUSHA

was elected for a three-year term to the board of directors of the Health Foundation of Central Mass. Inc. The Health Foundation board also elected these directors as officers:

was elected as chairman emeritus.

PAUL MACKINNON

has been promoted to chief nursing officer at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He joined Saint Vincent Hospital in June 2006 and since then has served as the senior director of nursing and the vice president of inpatient services. He as been the Acting CNO for the past 2 1/2 months. STEVEN M. BENNETT has been named the director of imaging services at Saint Vincent Hospital. He was most recently the director of diagnostic imaging at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford Springs, Conn.


NANCY THIBAULT

has been appointed job training and employment director by Worcester-based Easter Seals Massachusetts. Before joining Easter Seals, she was responsible for initiating, developing and managing government programs within the human resources/planning department at Staples Inc.


RICHARD GEBHARDT

has been appointed director of business development for Atlas Distributing Inc., an Auburn-based beer and beverage distributor. Gebhardt has more than 16 years experience at the wholesaler level and has held a sales manager position with Atlas since 1999.

DONALD SALOIS

, has been appointed director of sales. He has more than 20 years experience at the wholesaler level and has held a sales manager position with Atlas since 1995.

Paxton-based Anna Maria College has appointed

LINDA ARONSON

, an experienced nurse practitioner, as director of health services. Aronson has more than 20 years working in clinical settings. Her past background includes serving as a lead practitioner in the Women's Health Initiative from 1995 to 2001; working as a lead coordinator and nurse practitioner at the Fallon Clinic from 2001 to 2006; and providing diagnostic and assessment services in the UMass Memorial Health Care Center's vascular surgery department in 2007.

BOB GILLIES

, a professor at Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester, has been named to the National Education Association board of directors. Already a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association board, Gillies was most recently an alternate on the NEA board of directors before being elected to complete the term of a retired member last September.

ROBERT PONTBRIAND

has been named director of economic development and government affairs by the North Central Massachusetts Development Corp. He was most recently the chief of staff for the City of Fitchburg's Mayor Dan Mylott and is currently an adjunct instructor at Fitchburg State College in the political science department.


BRIAN BUCKLEY

has resigned as president of the board for the Worcester Regional Research Bureau and was elected chair. ROBERTA SCHAEFER, the bureau's executive director, was elected president and CEO of the organization.

The Worcester Executives Association presented

DENISE PIERCE

the WEA Executive of the Year award at their annual dinner in January. Pierce is president and founder of Denise Pierce Interiors in Leominster. The 2008 WEA Board was also named new officers:

Dr.

WALTER GOULA

has joined Saint Vincent Medical Group's new medical office located at 102 Shore Dr. in Worcester. He received his medical degree from Saint Louis University in Saint Louis and completed his internship and residency at Miriam Hospital in Providence.

Marlborough-based Egenera Inc. has been joined by

SUBO GUHA

as senior vice president of business development. Guha brings nearly two decades of business development and marketing experience to Egenera. Prior to Egenera, he served as director of enterprise software marketing at Dell Inc.

The University of Massachusetts announced the names of the latest winners of the President's Public Service Award on the 10th anniversary of the faculty award. The local honoree was

STEPHEN DOXSEY

of the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

MARK AZIA

has joined Southbridge Savings Bank, as vice president and commercial loan officer of the West Boylston Street office. Azia comes to the position with more than 35 years of commercial lending experience.
