New Owners Rename, Pledge Finish To Shining Rock

Northbridge-based Blue Granite Development Corp. has bought and will develop the unfinished “Shining Rock” development in Northbridge, near the Uxbridge line.

Blue Granite CEO Marcelino Gutierrez of Westborough and Duane Blake of Westwood are heading the project.

The company has renamed the $20 million development “The Viera at Shining Rock” and is working with the Norwood Cooperative Bank on the property. The project includes single family homes, condominiums and an 18-hole golf course.

Blue Granite has hired Jerry Deemer of Traverse City, Mich., a nationally respected golf course builder, who is also known for his drainage and turf work at Fenway Park after the 2004 World Series.

The project was started by a previous owner, but left unfinished, according to Blake, with some residents living in the houses that were finished. Blue Granite is not connected with the previous owners, Blake said.
