In a move that is aimed at improving service to its growing New England customer base, New Jersey-based Delaware Valley Floral Group (DVFG) announced the opening of a new distribution center in Shrewsbury.
The 8,000-square-foot facility at 577 Hartford Tpke. in the Hills Farm Industrial Park is DVFG's second in New England.
The company, which distributes flowers to retailers, opened its first facility in the region in 2009 when it acquired Seagroatt Wholesale Florist in Cromwell, Conn. DVFG said it will continue to operate out of the Connecticut location to support customers in that state and western Massachusetts.
“The new distribution center will work in concert with our current Cromwell location, leveraging our operating model and logistical infrastructure,” said John S. Wilkins, DVFG's vice president of logistics. “The Shrewsbury team and facility will allow us to improve our capacity and to expand our fleet delivery territories to support prospective customers.”
The company has four operating divisions and also has operations in Baltimore, Md.; Miami; and Oxnard, Calif.
