Online job ads down
New England experienced a 0.2 percent dip in job vacancies advertised online since last July, according to The Conference Board Help-Wanted OnLine Data Series. It was the only region to experience a dip. The other eight census regions had double-digit gains, the highest in the West South Central region (38 percent). While online advertised vacancies are up 20 percent over the year, there was a 5 percent decline from June. This month's decline is mainly reflective of the lower ad volume during the Fourth of July holiday week, according to the Conference Board.
