Massachusetts home sale agreements shot up 9 percent in July, compared to a year ago, and the median price of a single-family home put under agreement last month rose to almost $440,000.

The Massachusetts Association of Realtors also reported Wednesday that pending condo sales were up 4 percent in July, with a pending sale median price of $399,000, a 1 percent decrease compared to July 2018.

"The market continued to be all about buyer demand in July as once again homes put under agreement went up," said MAR President Anne Meczywor. "Prices are still near historic highs and there is a good chance they'll remain there through the fall."

The median sale price of a single-family home put under agreement last month was up 3.5 percent compared to July 2018.
