Perini Awarded $590M In New Contracts

Framingham-based construction company Perini Corp. said it had been awarded $590 million in new contracts.

The contracts include a $139 million Harold Structures project in Queens, N.Y., which is being undertaken by the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The project includes excavation, tunneling and construction of a new electrical power substation, as well as construction and demolition of overhead and third-rail power systems.

Cherry Hill Construction, a Perini subsidiary, recently started work on a $86.8 million project constructing express toll lanes along I-95 in Maryland.

Perini also has part of a $4 billion, 10-year U.S. Air Force base infrastructure project.

During the fourth quarter, Perini and subsidiary Rudolph and Sletten added about $365 million to its project backlog. Those projects include seismic upgrades for the University of California San Diego, a hospital expansion in Northern California and a $230 million office complex, also in California.
