  • Country Bank, with branches in Central Massachusetts, ran a supply drive for military troops overseas, collecting such items as toothpaste, snack foods and sunglasses.
  • Clark University group Clarkies Against Cancer raised $16,000 with its Relay for Life event on campus.
  • MutualOne Bank of Framingham donated $5,000 to St. Bridget School in Framingham so it could upgrade its technology infrastructure.
  • Leominster Credit Union donated $500 to Leominster Youth Soccer to assist with rebuilding the Samoset Soccer Field concession booth after it had been vandalized.
  • MutualOne Bank also donated $250 for supplies for Natick Green-Up Week and $500 for the Creature Teacher exhibit at Natick Earth Day Festival, both Lake Cochituate Watershed Council initiatives.
  • Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School’s FIRST Robotics team, the AZTECHS, has been awarded a $5,000 grant by Staples Inc. of Framingham.
  • Commerce Bank was the corporate sponsor for the Worcester Public Schools' Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony on May 1 at Wachusett Country Club in West Boylston.
  • Westborough-based PENTA Communications Inc. donated $1,000 to benefit Westborough Veterans during this Military Appreciation Month. The funds will go toward a planned expansion of VFW Post 9013.
