Profits rise at Amphenol

First quarter profits at Wallingford-based Amphenol Corp. grew 36 percent $77.7 million, up from $57.2 million in the same quarter a year ago. Adjusted for the 2-for-1 stock split the company executed in March, diluted earnings per share were 43 cents, up from 31 cents in the year-ago period. Sales increased 14 percent to $651 million. The company raised its earnings per share guidance to between $1.75 and $1.80 for the full year. Amphenol manufactures electronic and fiber-optic connection systems.
